Draconic Chart

A Draconic Chart is an alternative chart built from the lunar nodes rather than the usual starting point of the zodiac.

A Draconic Chart is an alternative chart built from the lunar nodes rather than the usual starting point of the zodiac. To create it, the North Node is reset to zero degrees of Aries, and every planet and point is shifted by the same amount. The result is a second chart, laid over or compared with the ordinary natal chart, that many astrologers read as a deeper, more soul-centered layer. Where the standard natal chart describes the personality and the outer life, the draconic chart is taken to describe inner purpose, spiritual aims, and what a person brings from beyond this lifetime. The two charts share the same aspects but place the planets in different signs, so comparing them can reveal a gap between who a person seems to be and what they feel called toward. The draconic chart is most revealing when compared with the natal chart, especially where a draconic planet lands on a natal one. These contacts are read as points where the soul's intention meets the everyday self. The draconic chart answers a more inward question, pointing toward purpose and meaning beneath the surface of the personality.
