Fall

Fall is a debility, the opposite of exaltation.

Fall is a debility, the opposite of exaltation. A planet is in fall when it occupies the sign opposite its exaltation, where it feels weakened and undervalued. Because the Sun is exalted in Aries, it is in fall in Libra, and because Saturn is exalted in Libra, it is in fall in Aries. In its sign of fall, a planet struggles to be recognized and to act with confidence. Its natural authority is diminished, and it can express itself in a muted, uncertain, or overcompensating way. Of the dignities, fall and detriment are the two that mark a planet as challenged rather than supported. A planet in fall is not without value, but it asks for patience and conscious attention. The difficulty often points to an area where a person underestimates themselves and must learn to claim their strength. The work of fall is to give a weakened planet the support it lacks from its sign, building confidence in the very place where it feels least at home.
