Lot of Courage

The Lot of Courage, sometimes called the Lot of Boldness, is one of the Hermetic lots. It is a calculated point drawn from three factors, the Ascendant together with Mars and the Lot of Fortune, and its formula reverses between day and night births. Its classical planet is Mars. By sign, the Lot of Courage describes the style of a person's boldness and how their nerve tends to show itself. By house, it shows the area of life where they are called to act with strength, to confront rather than retreat, and where their daring is most tested and most rewarded. It often marks where a person finds their fighting spirit. Courage carries a martial charge, linked to conflict, contest, and the willingness to meet difficulty head on. It speaks to daring, force, and nerve, the capacity to take risks and push forward where others hesitate. The work of the Lot of Courage is to know where genuine boldness is required, to act with measured force rather than recklessness, and to meet fear without being ruled by it.
