Lot Of Courage

The Lot of Courage, sometimes called the Lot of Boldness, is one of the seven Hermetic lots and is associated with Mars. It is not a body but a calculated point, traditionally drawn from the Ascendant together with the position of Mars and the Lot of Fortune. It represents daring, force, and nerve, the capacity to face danger, take risks, and push forward where others hesitate. By sign, the Lot of Courage describes the style of a person's boldness and how their nerve tends to show itself. By house, it shows the area of life where they are called to act with strength, to confront rather than retreat, and where their daring is most tested and most rewarded. It often marks where a person finds their fighting spirit. In traditional astrology Courage is built from the Lot of Fortune and carries a martial charge, linked to conflict, contest, and the willingness to meet difficulty head on.
