Solar Arc Directions

Solar Arc Directions are a forecasting technique in which every planet and point in the chart is moved forward by the same amount, equal to the distance the Sun has progressed since birth. Because the progressed Sun travels roughly one degree per year, in solar arc the whole chart advances by about one degree for each year of life, moving together as a single unit. The power of the technique shows when a directed planet or point reaches an exact aspect to a natal placement. Since everything moves at nearly a degree a year, these contacts are precise in time, often marking a specific year when a major event or turning point occurs.
