T Square

A T-Square is an aspect pattern made of two planets in opposition that are both square to a third planet. On the chart it looks like a right-angled triangle, with the third planet, called the apex, sitting at the focal point where the two squares meet. The planets usually fall in signs of the same modality, giving the pattern a cardinal, fixed, or mutable flavor. A T-Square is a pattern of tension and drive. The opposition creates a tug of war, and the apex planet absorbs the strain of both sides, becoming a pressure point in the chart. This is often where a person feels the most challenge, but also where they find their greatest motivation, since the discomfort pushes them to act and achieve. The apex planet shows where the energy concentrates and demands attention. There is also an empty point opposite the apex, the missing leg of the cross, which marks the sign and house that can offer balance and relief. The work of a T-Square is to channel its restless tension into focused accomplishment rather than repeated frustration.
