Unaspected Planets. An unaspected planet is one that makes no major aspect to any other planet in the chart. It stands alone, disconnected from the network of relationships that ties the rest of the chart together. Because the other planets neither support nor restrain it, an unaspected planet tends to behave in an unusual and often striking way. Cut off from the give and take of aspects, such a planet operates on its own terms, sometimes erratically and sometimes with remarkable purity. Its energy can swing between extremes, going from barely noticeable to overwhelming, because nothing in the chart moderates it. A person may find that the matters this planet governs feel strangely separate from the rest of their life, hard to integrate yet impossible to ignore. At its best, an unaspected planet can express its nature in an exceptionally clear, undiluted form, which is why some are found in people of unusual talent. The work of an unaspected planet is to consciously connect it to the rest of the personality, building the bridges the chart did not provide. An unaspected planet marks a potent, self-contained force within a chart.
